Extreme Battle – Eastbourne 14/15 july rules

This competition will be mixed. Ladies and gentlemen battling it out together!

Fee: £10(tbc) entry.

Cone lay out:

There will be 10 cones 120cm apart, 20 cones 80 cm apart and 20 cones 50 cm apart.

The use of the course is entirely up to the skater’s personal preference: there will be no penalty for not using a line of cones. Skaters may perform tricks outside the cones if they wish and move between the lines of cones in any way they choose. Skaters may also touch the ground with any part of their body whenever they choose.

Qualification Round - 14th July

The qualification round takes place first. Each competitor will be given 60 seconds to perform as much as they can to impress the judges. Only the top 24 will qualify to the quarterfinals. These 24 skaters will be split into 4 different groups.

Judges will give each skater a summed total of style and technical marks out of a maximum of 100. This will be used as a basis for seeding and structuring the groups in order to ensure the best skaters do not meet each other in the early rounds.


Quarterfinals - 14th July
In the quarterfinals, each skater will be given 3 chances each of 30 seconds to try and qualify for the next round. 2 skaters from each group will go through to the semi finals. The skaters will be split into 2 groups of 4 for the semi finals

Semi finals - 15th july
Just like the quarterfinals each skater will be given 3 chances each of 30 seconds to try to qualify for the finals. The top 2 skaters from each group will proceed through to the final.

The Final - 15th July
There should only be the top 4 skaters left now and it is up to them to battle it out for glory! Each skater will again get 3 rounds each of 30 seconds to impress the judges for one last time in attempt to be champion of the Battle at the Beach slalom competition!

Best trick:
The final 4 skaters will be allowed one last attack on the cones. Each skater will get just 10 seconds to pull off their best trick.
